The study highlights the effect of lubricants on the disintegration time of the co-processed excipient vs. the physical blend. Other important characteristics like tablet hardness and ejection force are also reported.
Lactose is a very common used filler in pharmaceutical solid dosage forms. A combination with cellulose to improve compressibility or with starch to modify disintegration time is also widely used. For such formulations lubrication is requested. The various lubrications have a diverse influence on tablet characteristics. Our investigations  focus on the effect of these lubricants on the disintegration time of the co-processed excipient vs. the physical blend. Other important characteristics like tablet hardness and ejection force are also reported.
