The study highlights the influence of various lubricants on the ejection force, tablet hardness and disintegration time of a compound vs. the physical blend based on lactose and starch. In literature, the use of a combination of lactose and starch in pharmaceutical tablets is very often described. For such formulations a lubrication is a requested and the various lubricants have a diverse influence on the tablet characteristics.

The different physical properties of co-processed vs. the physical blend are reported and also the influence of Mg-stearate. In our study we focused on the influence of various lubricants on the ejection force, tablet hardness and disintegration time of a compound vs. the physical blend based on lactose and starch.
